A very frustrating game. Storm squandered so many opportunities throughout this match.
It wasn’t until Brendon Myers was taken down in the penalty box in the 31st minute that Storm was able to score, courtesy of a well struck penalty shot by Mykel Watson. Half time score 1 nil
The second half began in the same manner as the first half with Storm all over Boambee but again our passing and possession game was not complete. Again we had to wait until the final minute of the game before Mykel Watson scored his second.
It must be said that our defence was outstanding throughout this match ably led by skipper Nathan Skinner. Goal keeper, Mitch Weeden, was brilliant and was definitely his best performance of the season
Discipline let us down today – shut your mouth and walk away lads – the ref will not change his decision and certainly does not like any form of argument.
NOTE: This was a game where possession and short passing would have destroyed the opposition rather than individuals trying to weave their magic past the defence.
Northern Storm 2 Boambee 0
Man of the Match went to Nathan Skinner for outstanding cover defence.
