Northern Storm vs. Coffs United
Sunday
29/6/2014
A tough game
for the Storm today playing the top team in the competition Coffs United. The boys
knew if they could win or even draw the game it would be a great moral boost
for the team. The first half became a hard slog for both teams with attack and
counter attack from both teams. The first goal was scored by Coffs in the 30th
minute by John Omtha. Our boys came back hard playing some great football with
Brendon Myers heading one in the net from a corner which was disallowed due to
a push in the back. The half time score was Coffs United one goal Northern
Storm nil.
The second
half began with the Storm really stepping up the heat on Coffs with all facets
of the game being used to our advantage. Our defence was outstanding our mid
field play and attack players were on top of Coffs and in the 17th
minute a goal from Brendon Myers levelled the score. Well done Brendon you had
a great game mate. Full time scores one goal each. The 1 point for the draw we
will take with pride because it’s no easy task beating Coffs. I believe we were
the better team today and can’t wait to play them again in the finals. Our man
of the match today was extremely hard to pick with our team playing so well
however the goal keeper Jordan Andrews with some great saves and never give up
attitude gets it this week well done Jordy keep it up buddy. Thanks to Coffs
United for a great game. Thanks to our boys for the belief that we can go all
the way in this competition.
