Round 10
14/6 vs Urunga
This was a big game for us as we had struggled a little in some recent
matches. Urunga at home are never an easy prospect and we needed a strong
performance to get back on track
We started extremely well, playing our best 20 minutes of the season.
Some excellent passing moves finally produced with a great team goal to put us
up 1-0. Urunga made a few changes and we started to slow down a little,
resulting in a scrappy goal to our opponents. 1-1 at half time.
Soon after half time Urunga got 1 more and we were under pressure, but
we fought back strongly and got our 2nd through a well earned
penalty. 2-2 with 25 mins to go.
Unfortunately we could not maintain the same level , and with Urunga
using several 1st division players we were defending for most of the
2nd half. 2 late goals sealed the result against us.
This was still an excellent result and showed what we are capable of
when we play good structured football. Excellent games from Jess, Holly, Aimee,
Rachel.
