Match Report:
Maclean were a side that gave us plenty of trouble in 2015, and with most of our players having had a run in Reserves on a hot day were really concerned how we might hold up over 90 minutes. The first 70 minutes of this game sorted out any fears we might have had, as we proceeded to completely shut Maclean out of the match. An excellent possession and passing game gave our opposition no easy ball and we effectively closed down their golden boot winning striker. Some really creative attack meant we were constantly pressing the Maclean goal, and eventually they cracked under pressure. 2 goals each to Kodie & Holly either side of half time saw us 4-0 up with 20 minutes to go. The last 20 minutes was a little nerve wracking as we fatigued, however we managed to hold on strongly for a 4-2 win. Excellent work from Tilly Lugg playing out of position in the backs and a good job from Natasha Clancy in midfield, both having their first run in Premier League. This was an incredible effort from all players, and we now have a 2 week break to consolidate and get some players back on deck from injury.
